Improving skills
Ensuring there are enough skilled workers for all industry sectors is an ongoing challenge.
Joint industry and government training programs help fill the gaps.
Industry skills boards
You can get support to plan for emerging skills and workforce issues from South Australia's industry skills boards (ISBs). Their role is to identify areas of skills shortages and develop ways to improve workforce development.
ISBs provide employers with:
advice on attracting and retaining workers
career information for new and existing employees
support for increasing worker skills
links to training.
South Australia has nine industry skills boards:
Business Services Industry Skills Board SA Inc
Construction Industry Training Board
Electrotechnology and Water Skills Board
Food, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Skills Advisory Council SA Inc
SA Health and Community Services Skills Board
Manufacturing Industry Skills Advisory Council
Primary Industries Skills Council SA
Services Skills SA
