Demerit points

Demerits warning notice
If you accrue six or more demerit points, a warning notice is sent to you (unless you have an interstate address) warning that you are close to being disqualified from driving. The warning notice shows the offence details, the date the offence was committed and the number of demerit points for each offence.
Driving history
To apply for a report detailing up to 10 years of your driving history and traffic infringements - write to:

When applying for the information you must include:
- payment of $22.00 by cheque, money order or by providing your Visa or MasterCard details - make cheques payable to Registrar of Motor Vehicles
- your name and address
- your licence number
- your date of birth
- the reason why you would like the information.
Your application must be signed and include your fax number if you want the report to be returned by fax.
Courts may request a copy of your driving history. Employers and insurance companies may also request a copy of your driving history, with your written consent.
