The toolkit can be borrowed free of charge from all metropolitan public libraries and most regional public libraries in South Australia.

Where to borrow or buy a Home Energy Toolkit
For the public
The Home Energy Toolkit is available from all metropolitan libraries and most regional libraries in South Australia. Contact your local library to check availability.
To find your nearest library visit the Libraries SA website.
Please note toolkits are not available for sale to individuals.
For schools and teachers
The Department for Education and Childhood Development have a pool of Home Energy Toolkits that teachers can borrow on request, see below.
Request a kit for your school on the Attainable and Sustainable website.
For community organisations
The toolkit is a valuable resource for organisations who work with people who may be looking for practical ways to minimise their energy bills.
Community organisations can borrow a Home Energy Toolkit through the Energy Partners Program. See the Energy Partners section of this site for more information.
Energy partner organisations can also purchase a home energy toolkit for less than half price at a subsidised cost of $170 including GST.
Included with the toolkit is a support kit containing:
- instruction manuals for the appliance meter, infrared thermometer and stop watch
- spare batteries for the infrared thermometer and stop watch
- additional home energy auditing worksheets
- information on how to replace lost components.
Free training is also available for staff and volunteers who may use the toolkit to assist clients.

For SA libraries
If you are a South Australian public library interested in purchasing a Home Energy Toolkit, contact the Energy Advisory Service.
Libraries can purchase a home energy toolkit for less than half price at a subsidised cost of $170 including GST.
