All adoptions of children by residents of South Australia are conducted through the Adoption and Family Information Service (AFIS) of the Department of Human Services. AFIS administers the Adoption Act, 1988 and is responsible to the Minister of Human Services.

[07] To enable a marriage to take place, a Notice of Intended Marriage form is to be completed and provided to the authorized celebrant who will be conducting the marriage. The celebrant then forwards the form to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages after the marriage ceromony to register the marriage. The form is to be lodged at least 1 month and 1 day and not more than 18 months before the date of the marriage

Issued for the purpose of marrying overseas to prove that you are not currently married in the State of South Australia. To comply with Births, Deaths and Marriages' Access Policy all Non Marriage certificates must be applied for by the person to be named on the certificate or a child of that person. Written authorisation from any of the above mentioned persons applies to other applicants.
